Singapore, Greece Expand Bilateral Air Services Agreement

Subject Concerned: Government   Airlines   Cargo

Singapore and Greece have agreed to expand the bilateral Air Services Agreement (ASA) of the two countries, Singapore's Ministry of Transport said on June 17.

Under the expanded agreement, carriers from Singapore and Greece are allowed to operate unlimited cargo flights between and beyond the two countries, as well as unlimited "hubbing" rights for cargo operations for carriers of both countries.

The expanded agreement further allows carriers from both countries to operate unlimited passenger services between the two countries, and up to 14 weekly passenger services beyond them to any city worldwide.

This latest liberal ASA with a European Union (EU) Member State promotes people-to-people ties, boost tourism and enhance bilateral economic relations not just between Greece and Singapore, but also between the Asia-Pacific region and the EU, Singapore's Ministry of Transport said in a statement.

At present, Singapore Airlines operates twice weekly passenger services between Singapore and the capital city of Greece, Athens.
