Air France-KLM said on June 3 that its passenger and cargo business had shown a "marked" recovery in terms of traffic and unit revenues in May due to an improvement in the economic environment and prudent capacity management.
Passenger traffic rose 4.3 percent on a year ago while average loadings were up 3.3 percentage points at 80.6 percent of capacity.
Cargo traffic rose 8.7 percent with the load factor up 7.8 points at 70.6 percent of capacity.
The airline made no mention of the impact of the volcanic ash cloud that forced European airport closures in early May, but the closures were less severe than in April.
